Basic Criteria of an Effective Website
By Jay Arenas
Here are a few tips to consider to have an effective website:
Your website should be viewer friendly.
Always remember majority of the viewers visit your website for a purpose, they may either be in need of a product or service that you offer. Therefore these products and services should ideally be eye-catching and readily available for them. When viewers don’t get the information they want right away and experience even such slight difficulty in maneuvering thru your site they will eventually lose interest and move on to the next available website that can easily provide them of what they need. Always plan ahead on how to present and promote your products and services in a way that attracts your viewers. Having a fancy, sophisticated, modern complicated design may look pretty but make sure not to compromise the functionality. It is thru here, when Viewers decide to be your Client. So it is best to keep your website design and content direct, nice and simple. This way, it’s pleasing for all viewers.
Your website should establish credibility.
Always make sure your contact details are available on every page of your site. Knowing that you can easily be reached gives potential clients confidence to proceeding transactions with you. Also testimonials are relevant. A well written Testimonial describing the particular work you do, where and for whom and mentioning you by name can really boost your credibility. Viewers aren’t particularly interested in you, all they really want is for you to meet their needs and for them to be able to trust you.
Your website should be able to create viewers into instant clients.
How do I make a viewer be an instant client, the answer to this is pure and simple-call to action button. As mentioned above you need to plan ahead of how you want to promote your products/services for you to be able to lay the groundwork on you call to action button. These call to actions buttons should be placed strategically thru out all pages. Make sure to use active urgent language such as Buy, Call, Subscribe, Download etc. Use a distinct color and make it visibly big.
Considering these criteria can let you go a long way. If your products and services are carefully crafted and presented, your business is credible and appears trustworthy and your sales pitch is convincing there should be no reason for your viewers not to convert into a customer. Meet their needs and expectations and you will have met the basic criteria of an effective business website.
